My name is Lisa and I’m a Southern Baptist preacher’s wife. This blog exists to serve those of you married to the ministry as well as chronicle the dailyness of life here in our parsonage.
My book, “You Can Still Wear Cute Shoes..And Other Great Advice from an Unlikely Preacher’s Wife” will be released February, 2010 by David C. Cook.

I just want to say that as a fellow lady known to most only as “The Preacher’s Wife” I know that feeling.
And I agree that being known as the preacher’s wife is definately better than the latter title you discussed……..
Hope you all are well.
Email me…..I would love to have a godly woman that I can really discuss things with………Us preacher’s wives gotta stick together!

I grew up in Small Town, MS, as ‘The Preacher’s Kid,” and although I majored in biblical languages at a Southern Baptist university with all the preacher boys, I vowed never to be called “The Preacher’s Wife.” So I went into church planting. :) Tent makers are rarely called “The Preacher” or “The Preacher’s Wife.” So, unless God radically changes our circumstances, it seems I got my wish! We have four kids as well, and as a young mom in an earlier season, it’s nice to get a more seasoned perspective on this mothering/ministering/following thing. Love the Bible studies you’re doing here!

Pattie
After being “the preacher’s wife” for almost 15 years, I’m now “one of the chaplain wives.” Unlike you, I got irritated with that moniker…I wanted to just be Pattie!
Found you at the 5 Minutes for Mom Blog Party, by the way….:)

I was just browsing through the CWO posts and happened upon my old friend, Lisa! This is Janis (Trundle) Rodgers! What a small world it is! I am so enjoying reading all of your posts. I think about you quite often. I see your mom at the Wal-Mart and ask about you. I hope that you are having a wonderful day! Blessings to you and your family! Janis
